The Importance of Art

"Tax dollars should not be wasted on art, music or theater classes in high school. Public high schools should be about training young people to enter the workforce. Period."

I disagree with this statement, because I feel like having these classes in high school gives teenagers the opportunity to express themselves through art, music, and theater classes. This gives them a chance to figure out their talents and calling. Without music, art, or theater, there would be a decline in those categories because children wouldn't be able to do the things that they desire to do most. These classes also teach teenagers to not be afraid to be themselves and to come out of their shell.
